Where do we go from here?

Wow… what an amazing Easter weekend. We saw so many new faces at Northstar and I might add, we also saw some friendly faces return that we haven’t seen in some time.  I love it when lost sheep come home! I’m thinking specifically about a older man that I spent a lot of time with early on in our church plant.  He had been in and out of the hospital and was going through some very difficult challenges financially. Anyways, he just slowly drifted away during that season, despite our best efforts to pull him closer to Christ.  He was back Easter morning… all dressed up in a nice suit and had a big smile on his face.  I gave him the biggest hug of the day!

God has truly blessed Northstar Church over the past year in so many ways.  Last year’s Easter service was attended by 362 people.  This past Easter Sunday, we welcomed 602… and 23 adults and 3 children made commitments to Christ.  The kids had a great time at the petting zoo and Easter Egg Hunt… I still can’t believe Embassy Suites let us bring goats and chickens into the hotel!!  We had several new people attend who had received the brochure that we mailed to the entire city of Frisco last week.  We have had several people, including local Pastors that have told us it was the best printed presentation a church has ever made to the community.  Be sure to pick up a copy this coming weekend and share it with a friend that is away from the Lord.

We also had another generous offering towards our new building this past Sunday.  So many people sacrificed financially in order to help us be in a position to take care of many of the expenses we are incurring right now. Thank you all for your faithfulness to God and His vision for Northstar.  I will share the details with you this coming Sunday!

So where do we go from here?  Forward!! In order to go forward, each of us must take a new step.  What’s the new step for you?  It may be to take a step towards serving in an area of ministry in the church.  It could be a step in reaching out to a friend or co-worker who needs to come to church and be exposed to the Gospel.  Maybe it’s a step of obedience in becoming a consistent tither and helping to resource God’s important work. Corporately for Northstar Church, it is continuing to step into our community and be a presence for Christ.  We cannot fall into the lie that we have to wait for a building before we can see really go to the next level God has for us…. God is not limited to brick and mortar!  Brick and mortar has never loved someone… never visited a hospital… never brought dinner to a neighbor… never guided a lost sheep home.  We are the church!

See you Sunday.
